AHOY hat die Corporate Identity der Messe entwickelt, sowie die Werbekampagne und alle begleitenden Maßnahmen. Nach fünf erfolgreichen Jahren mit unserer ersten Kampagne, die Photos mit einem gewissen 'PULSE' präsentierte, haben wir im Dezember 2012 neue Visuals eingeführt, die ebenso die weitreichende Bedeutung von 'PULSE' visualisiert, nun aber mit abstrakten Symbolen.

PULSE is a contemporary art fair presenting contemporary art from 50+ selected galleries in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

We developed the corporate identity of the fair, and created all advertising, signage, as well as all collateral and online applications. After five successful years with our first image campaign using a wide range of photos resonating any form of 'PULSE', we just developed a new campaign direction based on abstract iconography that launched in Miami in December 2012.

Wir hatten die Freude, verschiedene Titel progressiver und provokativer Bücher zu gestalten: zum Thema Irak, 9/11, Rogue Economics, weiblicher Gesundheitspolitik, sowie der Geschichte Ulrike Meinhofs aus der Perspektive ihrer Tochter.

We had the pleasure to design the covers of progressive and provocative titles covering Irak, 9/11, rogue economics, women's health politics, and the story of Ulrike Meinhof, told by her estranged daughter.

To date, it has committed over US$ 29 billion in 150 countries to support large-scale prevention, treatment and care programs against the three diseases Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis.

The Vilcek Foundation honors outstanding achievements of immigrants to the United States in the Arts and Science. The Vilcek Foundation's prime role is to present and support the role of immigrants to the United States, as a creative and intellectual gift to enjoy and respect.

Annually, several exhibitions by international artists are presented at the gallery. AHOY has been invited to create the brand identity, including advertising, signage, invitations and catalogues, for these exhibitions and events.

BODY EXTENSIONS - exhibition branding

Die Ausstellung "Body Extensions" im Museum Bellerive in Zürich zeigt symbolische und reale Körpererweiterungen und fragt nach den Gründen für den darin zum Ausdruck kommenden omnipräsenten «Wunsch nach mehr». Stets unzufrieden mit unserer natürlichen körperlichen Ausstattung, sind wir ganz Mangelwesen, wie Sigmund Freud es formulierte.

Wir haben dieses Phänomen mit Hilfe von Symbolen untersucht und illustriert: als Poster, Einladungen, und Quartett-Katalog.

The Exhibition "Body Exensions" at Museum Bellerive in Zurich shows symbolic and real extensions of the body and asks for reasons behind the omnipresent desire for more. We're always unsatisfied with our natural state, a lacking being, says Siegmund Freud.

We expressed this phenomenon with custom created icons depicting various ways of extending one's body. Presented were these as posters, invitations, a catalogue in form of a card game, and as part of the exhibition.

Der deCordova Skulpturenpark und Museum ist der grösste Park seiner Art in Neu England, 25 Kilometer nordwestlich von Boston gelegen.

In den Galerien des Museums warden relevante Wechselausstellungen präsentiert, darunter die deCordova Biennale sowie ‘Gary Webb: Mr. Jeans’, für die Ahoy die Ausstellungskataloge gestaltete.

Established in 1950, deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum is the largest park of its kind in New England encompassing 35 acres, 20 miles northwest of Boston.

Inside the museum, it features a robust slate of rotating exhibitions, including the deCordova Biennial and ‘Gary Webb: Mr. Jeans’, for which Ahoy was invited to design the publication catalogues.

Swisspeaks war ein vierwöchiges Festival in 2003, welches Schweizer Kreativität und Kultur nach New York brachte. Schweizer Kunst und Design, Architektur, Film, Musik und Theater gab es in zahlreichen Venues der Stadt zu sehen. Das Ziel des Festivals war es, das schweizer Image aufzufrischen und die Kreativität des Landes in den Vordergrund zu stellen. 

AHOY gestaltete die gesamte Kampagne des Festivals, inklusive der Corporate Identity, Werbung, Plakate, Programme, Flyer und Einladungen, Merchandise und einem Katalog, der die Highlights des Festivals festhielt.

Swisspeaks was a four week long city-wide festival in 2003, presenting Swiss creativity and culture in many leading venues in New York City, including art and design, architecture, film, music, performace and theatre. The aim of the festival was to elevate the image of Switzerland, offering a modern insight into the creative force of the country. 

AHOY created the entire campaign of the festival, including the overall identity, an advertising campaign, street posters, programs, flyers and invitations, merchandise and a catalogue covering the highlights of the festival.

MTV und H&M begaben sich auf die Suche nach Mädels mit einem ‘Killer Fashion Style’. 'Style Eye’ hieß die Kampagne, und Ahoy’s Aufgabe war es, ein Logo, ein passendes Set von  Mode-Illustrationen, und einen kurzen Style Guide für den korrekten Einsatz von beiden zu gestalten.

Wir entwickelten wie immer eine Vielzahl von Ideen. Hier sind einige unserer Favoriten, sowie das ausgewählte Design. In Kollaboration mit Mediacom.

MTV and H&M went on a quest to find real girls with real killer style. ‘Style Eye’ was the name of the campaign, and Ahoy’s assignment was to develop a logo, a matching set of illustrations, and a simple style guide for the proper use of both.

As usual, we developed quite a range of possibilities. Here are a few of our favorite sketches, along with the winning design, produced in collaboration with Mediacom.

Die Japan Society ist die führende japanische U.S. Organisation, engagiert im gegenseitigen Verständnis zwischen den USA und Japan im globalen Kontext. Sie präsentiert innovative Programme in Kunst und Kultur, Politik, Business, Sprachlicher Bildung.

Ahoy gestaltete den Gesamtauftritt der Organisation zu ihrem 100sten Jubiläum. Das grafische Programm enthielt die Gestaltung eines speziellen Logos, Banner, Gala Materialien, Presse-Unterlagen sowie eine umfangreiche Jubiläums-Publikation.

The Affordable Art Fair is a global player among the art fairs, presenting 60+ galleries in the USA, Europe, and Asia at about ten fairs each year.

Since 2009 we've been responsible for the visual brand of the New York fair, including the advertising campaign, signage, and all printed materials. It's a fast-paced project with many components, requiring attention for details as for the big picture, while manifesting New York spirit within the larger context of the brand.

Each piece in The Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art speaks to the value of a liberal arts education, says Barbara Alfond ’68, who with her husband, Ted ’68, established the collection. The couple worked with independent Boston-based curator Abigail Ross Goodman to build the collection, which comprises more than 100 contemporary works of art.

Ahoy was commissioned to design the collection's two catalogues, 180 page hardcover books with translucent inserts, which express Ms. Alfond's personal views of selected works.

In our tenth year of collaboration, this is our third rebranding of the art fair PULSE, presenting contemporary art from 50+ selected galleries in New York and Miami. AHOY's responsibilities contain the development of the corporate identity, all advertising, signage, homepage design, as well as all collateral and online applications.

Animated GIFs are back big time, as it seems. In any case, we don't really care if they're 'in' or 'out' as we're victims of instant gratification in repetitive ways just like probably everyone else. With over 1,200 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors, Intertextile is one of the largest trade shows in Shanghai, and the biggest fashion textile fair in the world. Taking place bi-annualy, the fair exhibits the latest international products and trends in apparel fabrics and fashion accessories. Messe Frankfurt GmbH invited us to create the key visuals for the advertising campaigns 2016 and 2017, featuring hand-created illustrations inspired by nature and indigenous style.

Public Art Fund is a non-profit arts organization that presents the work of contemporary artists in New York's public spaces. We designed the identity, posters, advertising, invitations, street banners and on site signage for several exhibitions, including Paola Pivi's 'How I Roll', a dramatic installstion of a rotating airplane at Central Park; 'Common Ground', a group exhibition at City Hall, including works by Jenny Holzer and Paul McCarthy; and 'Please Touch The Art', an installation in Brooklyn Bridge Park involving hidden water fountains, a labyrinth of mirrors, and twisted park benches by Jeppe Hein.

The Vilcek Foundation honors outstanding achievements of immigrants to the United States in the Arts and Science. Annually, the 'Vilcek Prize' is given to established leaders in their respective fields, and the 'Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise' is dedicated to lead younger immigrants and their achievements into the spotlight. 

AHOY had the pleasure to design the identity and related materials for this annual event for many years now. These are the materials created in 2015 for the Vilcek Prize for Science and Fashion, presented by Anna Wintour.

Wir haben gerade eine Werbekampagne für das Textil-und Tapeten-Unternehmen WolfGordon fertiggestellt: Wir luden die in London lebende Künstlerin Charlotte Mann ein, mit uns für die Kreation eines lebensgroßen Wandbildes zusammenarbeiten, welches die Fähigkeiten des Produkts Wink (ein klarer Lack, der es ermöglicht, Wände als beschriftbare Flächen zu nutzen) künstlerisch zum Ausdruck bringt. Wir produzierten zusätzlich einen Ausschnitt des Kunswerkes als Tapete in limitierter Auflage.

We just completed an advertising campaign for the U.S. based textile and wallcovering company WolfGordon. We invited London-based artist Charlotte Mann to collaborate with us on the creation of a life size mural to express the capabilities of a clear dry erase coating called Wink in a high level artistic fashion. We produced in addition a gallery opening, a timelapse, and a limited-edition wallcovering featuring a section of the drawing.

In 2006, a company sued us over our original name 'hello'. They wanted to be the only 'hello' out there. "Good luck" we said, and instead of wasting negative energy on a lawsuit, we took the creative challenge by the horns and became AHOY.

Seit über 15 Jahren sind wir verantwortlich für das jährliche Branding der AICP SHOW & NEXT AWARDS, der wichtigsten Award Show für Werbe- kampagnen in den USA. Dies ist unsere Kampagne für 2016, die das 25. Jubiläum der AICP Show sowie das 10. Jubiläum der Next Awards unterstreichen. Das Projekt beinhaltete das visuelle Branding, Werbung (digital und Druck), Einladungen, Tickets, VIP Pässe, Bücher und Signage auf den Events.

Since over 15 years we are responsible for the annual branding of AICP WEEK a.k.a. the AICP SHOW & NEXT AWARDS, the premier award show for the best of advertising in the United States. This is our campaign for 2016 highlighting the 25th anniversary of the AICP Show and the tenth year of the Next Awards. Our work included the overall branding strategy and design, online and print advertising, evites, tickets, VIP passes, awards books and signage at the events.

The Vilcek Foundation honors outstanding achievements of immigrants to the United States in the Arts and Science. Annually, the 'Vilcek Prize' is given to established leaders in their respective fields, and the 'Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise' is dedicated to lead younger immigrants and their achievements into the spotlight. 

AHOY had the pleasure to design the identity and related materials for this annual event for many years now. These are the materials created in 2016 for the Vilcek Prizes for Science and Theatre.

#LondonIsOpen - Post-Brexit campaign for London

AHOY’s Antwort auf einen Aufruf zur Teilnahme durch den Bürgermeister von London, die Idee von #LondonIsOpen als Reaktion zum Brexit über soziale Kanäle zu kommunizieren.

Unser Konzept spielt mit der Öffnung der drei O’s im Hashtag mit typisch Londoner Objekten, umgesetzt als Kaleidoskop –  eine quirlige Kampagne, die endlos erweitert werden kann – in Form von Aufklebern, Postern, Plakaten, Bierdeckel, you name it.

We responded to a call for entries by the Mayor of London to communicate via social channels the idea that #LondonIsOpen. 

AHOY's concept plays with the opening of the three O’s in the hashtag by replacing the closed round letter shape with kaleidoscope-style objects everyone loves about London – a quirky campaign that can be expanded endlessly, and that can of course also be translated into stickers, posters, billboards, beer coasters, you name it.

'2/15 - the day the world said NO to war' is a book honoring and remembering thousands of anti war demonstrations which took place around the world before the start of the U.S.-initiated war against Iraq in 2003. Inspired by these events, we initiated a global outreach to collect the best photographs documenting the demonstrators and their messages, and edited thousands of images to fit 131 of them into a small inspiring volume about peace. With statements by Arun Gandhi, Michael Moore, Arundhati Roy, Noam Chomsky, Kofi Anan, and many more.

GERMANY - United Nations Security Council Campaign

Wir starten gerade den ersten Teil unserer Kampagne für Deutschland’s Kandidatur für den Sicherheitsrat der Vereinten Nationen 2019/20. Zu unseren Aufgaben gehören die Gestaltung der Corporate Identity inklusive Logo, Ikonographie, Infografiken, Broschüren in 10 Sprachen, Schilder für Veranstaltungen, sowie eine Reihe von Give-Aways.

Wir starten gerade den ersten Teil unserer Kampagne für Deutschland’s Kandidatur für den Sicherheitsrat der Vereinten Nationen 2019/20. Zu unseren Aufgaben gehören die Gestaltung der Corporate Identity inklusive Logo, Ikonographie, Infografiken, Broschüren in 10 Sprachen, Schilder für Veranstaltungen, sowie eine Reihe von Give-Aways.

We are currently launching the first part of our campaign for Germany's candidacy for the United Nations Security Council 2019/20. Our responsibilities include the design of the corporate identity including the logo, iconography, infographics, brochures in 10 languages, signage for events, as well as a range of give aways.

First items of our extensive branding overhaul for the United Nations Development Group. The UNDG is responsible for optimizing the United Nations' performance in 162 countries as 'One UN' – in other words, to realize a transparent, synergetic, compact and effective UN ready to implement the ambitious Agenda 2030, a.k.a. the Sustainable Develpoment Goals. AHOY's task is to brand this massive endeavor and execute many of its components online and in print in a way that is functional to be used by country teams across the world, while expressing a fresh, modern attitude that is easily embraced by everyone.

IMAGINE 2030 ist eine globale Gesundheitsinitiative, die im Jahr 2016 von der Deutschen Stiftung Weltbevölkerung ins Leben gerufen wurde, um die Aufmerksamkeit auf dringend notwendige Investitionen in Wissenschaft und Forschung zu lenken, um endlich die armutsbedingten Krankheiten AIDS, Malaria und Tuberkulose zu beenden. AHOY wurde eingeladen, den Look & Feel der Kampagne, einschließlich animierter Infografiken für soziale Medien, einer Website und gedruckter Materialien zu gestalten.

IMAGINE 2030 is a global health initiative launched in 2016 by the European NGO DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung) in order to draw attention for the need to invest in science and research to finally end the poverty-driven diseases AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis. AHOY was invited to design the look and feel of the campaign, including animated infographics for social media, a dedicated website, and printed materials.

Catalogue design for IL LEE: New Paintings / 40 Years in New York, presented by Art Projects International. On view from September 22 to November 19, 2016, the exhibition is the largest showing of Lee's work in recent years and spans his career over the past four decades in New York City. The fully-illustrated catalogue includes a conversation between the artist and Jane DeBevoise, Chair of the Asia Art Archive and an essay by Raphael Rubinstein.

Die New York Akademie der Wissenschaften ist eine internationale Organisation, die wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse fördert mit dem Ziel, den globalen Herausforderungen unserer Zeit zu begegnen, und globales wissenschaftliches Verständnis zu stärken. Ahoy wurde beauftragt, die CI der 200-jährigen Jubiläums-Gala neu zu entwickeln und in ihren verschiedenen Facetten zu gestalten.

The New York Academy of Sciences is an international, nonprofit membership organization working to advance scientific knowledge, mobilize science to address major global challenges, and build a more scientifically literate society. Its members are Nobel laureates and students, researchers and technicians, academics and professionals from many fields.

Ahoy designed the organization's brand parameters for the 200th Anniversary, and to execute the design online, in print, and onsite.

HELL NO will be a local, physical yet interactive campaign we sent to print just now. We will plaster walls and fences with removable stickers for people to write down their anger, fears, frustrations and worries, take a collective note, and have that self-published by anyone engaging through everyone's love for selfies. We hope for some relief in emotion, and for a viral impact to spread the idea so other people get motivated to launch their own creative channels. Time to gauge the mood. We will soon follow up with a YES campaign – what we strive for and what we stand for, and how we want our world to be.

With over 1,200 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors, Intertextile is one of the largest trade shows in Shanghai, and the biggest fashion textile fair in the world. Taking place bi-annualy, the fair exhibits the latest international products and trends in apparel fabrics and fashion accessories. It may seem like we spend a disproportionate amount of time on boats – yes! We actually do! We feel very lucky to be surrounded by so much water and such great people who found AHOY in the vast internet universe, and dared to cross oceans to arrive in our studio in Manhattan, from allover the place! Our small but powerful crew is currently from Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Indonesia, Lithuania, China, Austria, and America. Awesome!

The Vilcek Foundation honors outstanding achievements of immigrants to the United States in the Arts and Science. Annually, the 'Vilcek Prize' is given to established leaders in their respective fields, and the 'Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise' is dedicated to lead younger immigrants and their achievements into the spotlight.

2016 Results Report, part of our extensive branding overhaul for the United Nations Development Group. The UNDG is responsible for optimizing the United Nations' performance in 162 countries as 'One UN' – in other words, to realize a transparent, synergetic, compact and effective UN ready to implement the ambitious Agenda 2030, a.k.a. the Sustainable Develpoment Goals. AHOY's task is to brand this massive endeavor and execute many of its components online and in print in a way that is functional to be used by country teams across the world, while expressing a fresh, modern attitude that is easily embraced by everyone.
